1. My Grandmother Willie Mae Sims is my grandmother and her sister (my great aunt) 2. Lula Mae played a very important role in my life. Willie Mae (my grandmother) is my father's mom and she helped my father raise me for the first 10 years of my life while my mother spent time away in Nigeria to get her life together in order to make a better life for my siblings and I. My grandmother and great aunt would make sure I always had nice clothes, shoes, toys and that my essential wants and needs were met. They showed me all the love and affection that a child could ever ask for. Birthdays and holidays were always a big deal and big celebrations in my grandmother's household, festival decorations and time well spent with family. I would spend most of my time at my grandmother's house, after school and on the weekends. I could never repay them for all of the love and support they have shown me! They made sure I had 3 amazing meals per day and my health was always their number one priority. They made my childhood amazing with all the love, attention and support over the years and still until this very day! My grandmother and great aunt are the matriarchs of my family and I love them so much, my grandmother passed away in 2010 but my great aunt is still alive and well. I have to do a better job of calling and checking on her, she is now 85 and she's all my family has left! I plan on visiting her this Friday in Chicago. I pray that I have the heart that she and my grandmother has had since I was born. My support system has been amazing!


3. My Father, Michael Sims was the best dad a girl could ever ask for. He was by my side until the day he died in 2009. He provided all of my wants and needs. Love, affection, and was a great and positive male figure to look up to. All he wanted was for me to receive my education and be the best that I could be. He never graduated college and unfortunately he passed away before he could see me receive my Bachelors degree. I love and miss him so much! He inspires the motivation within me, I do everything to continue to make him proud even though he is not here to physically witness my accomplishments! After I moved to Georgia with my mother in 1998 my father would fly me back to Chicago every summer and Christmas to spend the time with him, I always looked forward to seeing and spending time with him. He would call me everyday to check on me and to see how my day went  and also how I was doing in school. He was a great person and always had a very calm and positive spirit. I was his everything, he always showed love and support and was there for me whenever I needed him! I love and miss him so much! He instilled a lot of life lessons within me and I will always remember everything he taught me whether it was how to manage my money, save my money, how to treat other people or whether it was about dealing with BOYS and his expectations of me! LOL. 

4. My mother Sammie Osinuga is the wind beneath my wings! She has not only been my biggest supportor but number 1 fan! She received her GED but never received her college degree, and watching her has shown me that with hard work no matter what your circumstances are, YOU CAN BE SUCCESSFUL if you sacrifice and work extremely hard. My mother is strong and tough and has done so much to make sure that my siblings and I have what we need and that we receive our education. She moved to Atlanta and made a lot of sacrifices in order for us to have better opportunity and I can NOT THANK HER ENOUGH FOR HER DECISIONS because they have all affected my siblings and I in the most positive way! My mother is the hardest working woman I know and she inspires me to follow in her footsteps. Everything I do is to make her and my father proud because they have only wanted the very best for their children. I will be the very best if I have to struggle trying! Whether it is by supporting me financially, materialistically, emotionally, or spiritually my mother has done it all. There is no way I could ever pay her back and I would be depressed and devastated if something were to happen to her! I plan to strive for greatness and work hard now so that when she gets old and retires I can show the same love, support and affection she has shown me since birth.

5. My stepfather has been involved in my life since I was 5 years old. He and my mother got married in 1996! My stepdad has always been supportive and a provider for my family. He has worked so hard to make sure bills and school tuition were paid and our wants and needs were met. He is a family practice Doctor and has always motivated and encouraged me to be great and strive for the highest education that I can possibly receive. He continues to support me now also, he paid $650.00 for me to become a certified director! I will be finished with that program soon. He has helped me to recognize my full potential, which is why I am currently taking the certification program AND working on my Masters simultaneously. I appreciate all of his efforts and what he has done for my family!
